Schwerte, September 13, 2018. The company is going back to its roots – just in time for its 50th anniversary. This year, Pieper GmbH, a Schwerte-based manufacturer-independent provider of industrial video and security systems, is celebrating half a century of corporate history and breaking away from the MOOG Inc. network. Thomas Lampe will manage Pieper GmbH in future together with Thorsten Wulff.
In one of its first projects, Pieper (still a limited partnership at that time) installed industrial television systems at the German Engineering School in Cologne. Video technology is still what the Schwerte-based company focuses on today. IP technologies and cross-integration with other subsections have been added. Process monitoring in combustion chambers and early fire detection technologies have developed into core competencies. “We’ve always kept pace with the times over all these years,” says Thorsten Wulff, Chief Executive Officer of Pieper GmbH. “Today, we stand for high-quality, tailor-made industrial solutions and are internationally renowned for our innovative systems and special solutions.”
Dual Leadership: Thomas Lampe Appointed the Second Chief Executive Officer
Thomas Lampe will strengthen Pieper GmbH’s Management team in future. Mr. Lampe, who was previously the Düsseldorf branch manager, has been with the company since 1990 and is mainly responsible for sales. “Thomas Lampe has been an important pillar of the company for many years. I look forward to shaping Pieper GmbH’s future together with a long-standing and highly esteemed colleague,” says Thorsten Wulff, who was previously the only Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Lampe is also eagerly looking forward to his new duties: “While we’ve been companions to some customers for many years, each project has its own individual requirements. Video technology is a diverse subject area. New, exciting opportunities are currently opening up due to Industry 4.0.” Even in his role as Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Lampe will continue to be responsible for sales and expanding the company’s growth in the region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
MOOG Pieper Becomes Pieper GmbH (Again)
The separation from the MOOG Inc. network has given rise to another change. “Both the old and the new company name have been very much present with our customers over the years,” explains Thorsten Wulff. “We didn’t hesitate for long when the opportunity to buy the company back from MOOG Inc. arose. We want to maintain our positive partnership with MOOG. Pieper GmbH is a strong brand in the field of video security that’s set to become even more present within Germany and worldwide in the future.” The name change took place at the end of August.
